Spring Election Results in Orleans and Jefferson Parishes!
Election results are in! Royce Duplessis has been elected to replace Helena Moreno in the District 93 state representative seat, receiving 72% of the vote. Dale Atkins defeated Robin Pittman for 4th Circuit Court of Appeal Judge receiving 58% of the vote. Ellen Hazeur will become the next Civil District Court Judge, with 59% of the vote. Hazeur defeated Richard Perque and Taetrece Harrison. We’re very excited that both endorsed candidates in Orleans Parish were victorious.
John Fortunato was defeated by Joe Lopinto III for Sheriff of Jefferson Parish. The race was close, with Lopinto receiving 52% of the vote versus Fortunato receiving 48%. For residents of Kenner, be sure to show up for the City Council District 1 runoff election on April 24 to decide between Gregory Carroll and David Weathersby.
We’re looking forward to elected officials that will create and enforce the criminal justice reforms that are needed in Louisiana. Check out the rest of the results!
Also, be sure to start educating yourself on the next elections! Statewide races this November include U.S. Representatives and multiple judicial races including the State Supreme Court. We will be expanding to Shreveport, Baton Rouge and Lafayette! Be sure to look out for elections in these cities as well. Check back this summer for more, and contact us to get involved!
